Q: When did you start rowing, and why?
A: I did a Learn to Row in May 2011. It looked like a fun way to get exercise.
Q: What’s your favorite EBRC story?
A: I didn’t realize when I started how rowing would positively affect my overall mental health. It’s pretty amazing to start your day already having accomplished so much. That feeling of achievement carries over and has positive effects on the rest of your day.
Q: What’s the best thing you’ve learned from a coach (so far)?
1) You can’t have any more brownies . . . you WEIGH ENOUGH!!
2) Your body weight doesn’t get tired.

Q: What do you do when you’re not rowing?
A: Play tennis with my tennis team, ride my bike around Berkeley, make art in my studio and on my computer
Q: How old are you right now?
A: 57 (58 in “rowing years”)

Q: Why do you row?
A: Because it’s exercising while having fun with a bunch of great women. I like that it has become my happy, healthy habit.
